As increasing numbers of us find ourselves working from home due to the COVID-19 outbreak, it can be difficult to adjust to a new routine and remote working styles. Maintaining a work-life balance has become a new challenge. Adding to that, there are just too many distractions at home.
No worries, here are a few tips on how to care for your health and wellbeing while working remotely:
Follow your normal routine and work patterns if you can, and stay consistent.
Designate a place to work that is convenient, comfortable and as free of distractions as possible. Do not ever work in your bed.
Have short breaks of 5 to 10 minutes to help manage feelings of stress – make sure to take your lunch break and have regular screen breaks. Try moving around or even work standing up for a change.
A clean work space is a way of taking control of your life which will make you feel calmer and more energized to work.
Make sure to get some exercise! Keep up physical activity, whether it’s by going for a walk around the block or using online exercise tutorials to guide you through a lounge room workout.
