BookDoc Targets 500,000 Users For Health App By Year-End
PETALING JAYA, April 5 (Bernama) — BookDoc has target to reach 500,000 Malaysians to use its fitness and health application (app), BookDoc Activ, by year-end.
The app, launched last year, is an integrated online ecosystem catering to local and international travelers to help locate nearby healthcare providers, and book appointments hassle-free.
To make the target reachable, BookDoc Founder Datuk Chevy Beh said there are efforts at getting more retailers and service providers to join and use the app.
“The multi-functional app, integrated with Google Maps, Waze, Grab, Uber, AirAsia, Agoda, restaurants and other tourist attractions via TripAdvisor, has created a social fitness movement via the mobile phone,” he added.
He told reporters this after BookDoc’s Reward Partnership Ceremony, in collaboration with Fitness First, Ogawa and Madame Waffle here today.
Beh said currently there are about 200,000 users of the app in Malaysia, and expects more partners to join by year-end.
“Most Malaysians are not living a healthy lifestyle, recording only some 2,600 walking steps per day in contrast to the 3,500 of Singaporeans.
“This initiative will help users kick-start a healthier lifestyle and improve long-term wellness,” he added.
BookDoc has partnered several retailers and health service providers from 12 countries and offers users who achieve an average-daily-step threshold and targets with discounted products and services on a monthly basis.
BookDoc, with a presence in Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong and Thailand, is an online platform that operates across the healthcare continuum connecting patients to healthcare professionals anytime and anywhere, while incentivising all to stay active.
The company has notched records in achieving the highest pre-seed and seed valuation in Asia Technology Start-up history.
