KUALA LUMPUR, April 27 (Bernama)—The National Cancer Society Malaysia (NCSM) Wednesday collaborated with BookDoc; a home-grown online healthcare platforms and adding to the list of healthcare services in the effort to extend the fight battling cancer.
Under this collaboration, services offered by NCSM s cancer & Health Screening Clinic and Nuclear Medicine Centre is now available to be booked online via BookDoc App or website at any time and from anywhere. Additionally, Grab taxi booking is now made available in the same BookDoc platform for those with transportation issue.
Even though BookDoc is a technology start-up launched six months ago, we deeply appreciates the importance of timely access to access to care. Early detection to of cancer and immediate treatment does carry a big impact to chances for recovery. said Dato Chevy Beh; the founder and CEO of BookDoc.
Also in the ceremony, Beh launched its fundraising campaign for NCSM in conjunction with the collaboration and as part of BookDoc Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives. The campaign will be held for three months resuming from end of April until 30 June 2016. RM1 will be donated for every new user registered with BookDoc once they key in the word “CANCER”.
Speaking after the MoU signing here at the National Cancer Society Malaysia head office in Kuala Lumpur, Dr Saunthari Somasundaram who represented its patron; Tan Sri Rafidah Aziz, was pleased of the collaboration said that NSCM is glad to have a new partner to support our effort in battling cancer. BookDoc application can help to reduce users waiting time to seek for medical care especially when they wish to reach to NCSM.
Dr Saunthari Somasundaram in the same event extended her gratitude to BookDoc for reaching out to NCSM for collaboration and for the proceeds from the fundraising campaign which will be donated to their cancer society towards supporting NCSM s Cancer Information System.
The NCSM s Cancer Information System is proposed to enhance the visibility of NCSM services to the public. NCSM toll free helpline is 1-800-08-1000.
